The State Customs Committee of Transdnistrian Moldavian Republic fulfils the subscription to the newspaper "Customs News" in Russian (the official publication of The State Customs Committee of Transdnistrian Moldavian Republic). The purpose of the edition - informing the customs officers, economic agents and public on important aspects of customs activity in Transdnistria, on changes in customs law of Transdnistrian Moldavian Republic, as well as of other CIS countries.

Information technologies introduced in Transdnistrain customs bodies has become an efficient assistant for customs officers of law-enforcement units of State Customs Comittee of Transdnistrian Moldavian Republic. The next step in this direction was taken in April of current year when the program module “Infringers of customs and criminal legislation” was put into action with the view of implementation the Order of the State Customs Committee of Transdnistria of 24 November 2005 № 368 “On approval the Conception of risk management system in customs bodies of Transdnistrian Moldavian Republic”.

The official visit of delegation of Russian Customs Academy of Federal Customs Service of Russia to the State Customs Committee of Transdnistrian Moldavian Republic took place from 12 till 14 May 2009. The core purpose of professional contacts is the consolidation of cooperation with regard to development of system for teaching professional personnel for Customs Service on the basis of Russian Customs Academy.

In recent years the term “capacity building” has surely come into use of international organizations and business circles. On 16 January 2009 when opening the Regional office for capacity building for the West and Central Africa region the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Kunio Mikuriya said: “Capacity building has consequently become a priority for the international Customs community”.

To minimize the influence of global economic crisis on the economy of Transdnistriam Moldavian Republic the government of the republic has elaborated the State Programme on Ensuring Economic Stability in Transdnistrian Moldavian Republic. The draft document includes also measures to be taken in foreign-economic activity: reduction of customs tariff for a number of exported goods; establishment of zero customs duties for imported seeds and for other auxiliary goods to carry out the sowing campaign in 2009; customs clearance of cargoes for industry enterprises without advance payment to customs account; abolition of the requirements on compulsory prepayment when exporting socially important goods, and others.
